(Naples, FL) – Collier County Housing and Human Services Department is proud to participate in a new senior event for Collier County the Sensational Seniors May Celebration. The event will be held at North Collier Regional Park located at 15000 Livingston Rd. on Thursday, May 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Collier County’s Public Services Division is supporting this event organized by D & D Events, a company which specializes in free senior events to reach communities in Southwest Florida. The Housing and Human Services (HHS) Department will be providing FREE LUNCH at the event to an anticipated 200 seniors or more. Heidi Fahnestock, who is the Housing and Human Services Administrative Supervisor, manages the county’s free senior meal program and is coordinating the meal service. Lunches are grant-funded and designed to enhance the social interactions of seniors in the local Naples community.
The Collier County’s Public Services Division’s HHS Department and Parks and Recreation Department are excited to participate in this resource-focused event.
“Seniors here are very active and looking for ways to meet new friends and have fun with their existing pals, so this is the perfect way for them to connect here at North Collier Regional Park,” said Collier County Parks and Recreation Director Barry Williams.
This event will feature more than 60 senior-friendly exhibitor booths and will also provide lively entertainment, information from senior-themed businesses, prizes and giveaways, and more. Radio station Sunny 106 will also be on hand from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with prizes and giveaways.
“In this economy, we all need to spend our money as wisely as possible,” said Dave Kelly, President of Southwest Florida Senior Productions. “We work hard to allow for area seniors to have a free ‘one-stop shopping’ experience in order to gather the information that they need to make smart choices. Then we add a twist by making it fun as well.”
