Collier County Seeking Public Input for Urban Land Institute Advisory Panel Housing Study

Post Date:01/26/2017

In order to address growing housing issues in Collier County, the Collier County Board of County Commissioners has contracted with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to evaluate the County’s situation and make recommendations through an interdisciplinary Advisory Services Panel.

The Urban Land Institute is the nation’s premier nonprofit urban planning and real estate education and research institution, representing the entire spectrum of land use and development disciplines. The ULI program is a week-long exercise which includes substantial interaction with community stakeholders.

Members of the public are invited to come, meet and interact with the ULI panelists at a kickoff reception, which will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30, at The Naples Hyatt House, 1345 5th Ave. S., Naples, Florida 34102.

Those who cannot attend the reception and would like to voice their opinions are encouraged to take our housing survey. The survey can be accessed here and is available in English, Spanish and Creole. The results of the survey will be shared with the ULI panelists as they conduct their studies.

The Panel’s week-long process will culminate with a public presentation of the ULI’s review and preliminary recommendation at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3, in the Board of County Commissioners chambers, third floor, Collier County Government Center, 3299 Tamiami Trail E., Naples, Florida 34112. The meeting will also be broadcast live on Collier Television and via

Two or more members of the Board of County Commissioners, Collier County Planning Commission and Affordable Housing Advisory Committee may be present and may participate at the reception or the public presentation. The subject matter of these events may be an item for discussion and action at a future meeting of these boards.
