Lee County Opens Emergency Shelter at Alico Arena

Lee County has announced that a large capacity general population evacuation shelter has opened at Alico Arena on the Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) Campus.

Alico Arena is in close driving distance from Collier County. The location is:

• Alico Arena, 10501 FGCU Blvd. S, Fort Myers, Florida 33965
Those who plan to use emergency shelters should take any necessary medications, cell phone chargers, toiletries, foods, water, flashlights, bedding and anything else they need to be comfortable.
Pet owners must bring their vaccination records, the appropriate size kennel for their animals, food and water for a minimum of three days, bowls and all supplies including waste bags and litter. When taking pets outside, they must remain leashed, and pet owners are responsible for picking up pet waste. There must be a family member or care taker of the pet present in the shelter always.
Expanded Evacuation Zones - The following areas are now included in the evacuation zones:
Northern boundary: Pine Ridge from U.S. 41 to Airport-Pulling
Eastern boundary: Airport-Pulling from Pine Ridge to Radio Rd.
Northern boundary: Radio Rd. from Airport-Pulling to Santa Barbara
Eastern boundary: Santa Barbara from Radio Rd. to Rattlesnake Hammock
(southwest through the preserve between St. Andrews Blvd. and Roma Way) to Texas Ave.
Eastern boundary: Texas Ave. to U.S. 41

Western boundary: Collier Blvd. from U.S. 41 north to Winding Cypress Blvd.
Northern boundary: Winding Cypress Blvd. from Collier Blvd. to Verona Walk
Western boundary: Verona Walk Cir. from Winding Cypress Blvd. to Sabal Palm
Northern boundary: Sabal Palm east from Verona Walk

Northern area:
Northern boundary: Encore Way from U.S. 41 to Collier’s Reserve Dr.
Eastern boundary: Collier‘s Reserve Dr. to Immokalee Rd.
Southern boundary: Immokalee Rd. from Collier’s Reserve to U.S. 41
