ROAD ALERT


 

This ROAD ALERT was prepared by the Collier County Growth Management Department to inform the community about scheduled road construction and road maintenance projects along major roadways in Collier County where lane closures are planned or traffic flow may be affected.

 COLLIER COUNTY CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE PROJECTS:

107th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and 8th Street North – On 107th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and 8th Street North expect intermittent lane closures, as well as times that the road will be CLOSED to through traffic, allowing local residents only, for approximately two months, weather permitting, as crews continue work to install sewer mains, stormwater drainage and water mains as part of the Collier County Public Utility Renewal Project. During road closures, a detour route will be posted.  Flagmen will be used as needed, as well as advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area. 

110th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and US 41 – On 110th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and US 41 expect intermittent lane closures (limiting traffic to ONE LANE ONLY), as well as times that the road will be CLOSED to through traffic, allowing local residents only, for approximately two months, weather permitting, as crews continue work to install sewer mains, stormwater drainage and water mains as part of the Collier County Public Utility Renewal Project.  Flagmen will be used, as needed, as well as advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area

Airport Road at Coach House Lane Intersection – On Airport Road at Coach House Lane expect both northbound and southbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes in each direction to two lanes in each direction for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews mill and pave a section of the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Collier Boulevard at Grand Lely Drive Intersection – On Collier Boulevard at Grand Lely Drive expect northbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews mill and pave a section of the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Collier Boulevard at White Boulevard Intersection – On Collier Boulevard at White Boulevard expect northbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to one lane for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews mill and pave a section of the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Copeland Avenue (CR 29) between Demere Lane and Oyster Bar Lane – On Copeland Avenue (CR 29) between Demere Lane and Oyster Bar Lane expect traffic to be reduced from two lanes to ONE LANE ONLY through spring 2018, while traffic is diverted to Phase I of the new bridge and Phase II is constructed. A temporary traffic signal has been installed and is operational 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Drivers are reminded to stay alert and expect delays. Motorist should obey posted signs and temporary signalization. Also, on Wednesday, April 4 from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, there will be a bridge deck pour. Drivers are reminded to stay alert and drive with care.  Trucks will be entering and exiting the project area and construction crews will be very close to the travel lane as traffic moves by. Final completion of the replacement bridge is planned in summer 2018; the project completion has been delayed by the impacts from Hurricane Irma.

Golden Gate Boulevard from 2nd Street NE to Weber Boulevard – On Golden Gate Boulevard from 2nd Street NE to Weber Boulevard expect intermittent eastbound and westbound lane closures reducing traffic from two lanes in each direction to one lane in each direction for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews place pavement markings on the roadway. Flagmen, advance warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Golden Gate Parkway between Goodlette-Frank Road and Freedom Park – On Golden Gate Parkway between Goodlette-Frank Road and Freedom Park expect westbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews mill and pave a section of the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Immokalee Road at Goodland Bay Drive – On Immokalee Road at Goodland Bay Drive expect westbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes beginning on Monday, April 2 and continuing through Thursday, April 5 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews repair the guardrail. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Livingston Road near the entrance of Orchid Run – On Livingston Road near the entrance of Orchid Run expect southbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews mill and pave a section of the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Orange Blossom Drive near the entrance of First Baptist Church Naples - On Orange Blossom Drive near the entrance of First Baptist Church Naples expect eastbound and westbound traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews mill and pave the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Tallowood Way at Logan Boulevard Intersection – On Tallowood Way at Logan Boulevard expect eastbound and westbound traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews mill and pave a section of the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 101st Avenue North – On Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 101st Avenue North expect traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY through spring of 2018 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue installation of new water mains and stormwater drainage structures. 6th Street may be used as an alternate route for those travelers who do not have destinations in the construction zone. Advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist drivers in this area.

Vanderbilt Drive Between Vanderbilt Beach Road and 91st Avenue North – On Vanderbilt Drive Between Vanderbilt Beach Road and 91st Avenue North expect the road to be CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC 24 hours per day/seven days a week for approximately two weeks, weather permitting, as crews install a new gravity sewer. A detour route will be posted. Advance warning signs, electronic message boards and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

White Blvd. over Cypress Canal Bridge Replacement Project – On White Blvd. between Weber Blvd. and 31st Street SW over the Cypress Canal crews are progressing with constructing the new replacement bridge. This project is expected to be completed in summer 2018. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph through the construction zone.  Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs, barrier wall and barricades, to assist travelers in this area. 

WORK BY OTHERS:

Mercantile Avenue near Airport Road – On Mercantile Avenue westbound traffic nearing Airport Road should expect the back portion of the right turn lane to be shortened for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews continue work for Tamiami Ford, Inc. constructing a new entrance with a turn lane into the car dealership. Drivers will still be able to turn right from Mercantile Avenue onto Airport Road during this work. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Shadowlawn Drive between U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail East) and Estey AvenueOn Shadowlawn Drive between U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail East) and Estey Avenue expect southbound intermittent lane closures, reducing traffic at times to ONE LANE ONLY, for approximately four months OVERNIGHT from   8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews working for FPL replace power poles. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades, to assist travelers in this area.
