ROAD ALERT

 

This ROAD ALERT was prepared by the Collier County Growth Management Department to inform the community about scheduled road construction and road maintenance projects along major roadways in Collier County where lane closures are planned or traffic flow may be affected.

COLLIER COUNTY CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE PROJECTS:

S. 1st Street between Carver Street and Stockade Road (in Immokalee) – On S. 1st Street between Carver Street and Stockade Road in Immokalee expect traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY, in short segments, beginning on Monday, April 16 and continuing for approximately two weeks from   9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform swale maintenance. Flagmen, advance warning signs, a rolling truck with signage and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

107th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and 8th Street North – On 107th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and 8th Street North expect intermittent lane closures, as well as times that the road will be CLOSED to through traffic, allowing local residents only, for approximately two months, weather permitting, as crews continue work to install sewer mains, stormwater drainage and water mains as part of the Collier County Public Utility Renewal Project. During road closures, a detour route will be posted.  Flagmen will be used as needed, as well as advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area. 

110th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and US 41 – On 110th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and US 41 expect intermittent lane closures (limiting traffic to ONE LANE ONLY), as well as times that the road will be CLOSED to through traffic, allowing local residents only, for approximately two months, weather permitting, as crews continue work to install sewer mains, stormwater drainage and water mains as part of the Collier County Public Utility Renewal Project.  Flagmen will be used, as needed, as well as advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area

Collier Boulevard between Golden Gate Parkway and White Lake Boulevard - On Collier Boulevard between Golden Gate Parkway and White Lake Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures both northbound and southbound for approximately three weeks, OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews progress with paving and then place pavement markings on the roadway.  Lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Collier Boulevard at Grand Lely Drive Intersection – On Collier Boulevard at Grand Lely Drive expect northbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews place pavement markings on a newly paved section of the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Collier Boulevard at White Boulevard Intersection – On Collier Boulevard at White Boulevard expect northbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to one lane for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews place pavement markings on a newly paved section of the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area. 

Copeland Avenue (CR 29) between Demere Lane and Oyster Bar Lane – On Copeland Avenue (CR 29) between Demere Lane and Oyster Bar Lane expect traffic to be reduced from two lanes to ONE LANE ONLY through spring 2018, while traffic is diverted to Phase I of the new bridge and Phase II is constructed. A temporary traffic signal is operational 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Drivers are reminded to stay alert and expect delays. Motorist should obey posted signs and temporary signalization. Completion of the replacement bridge is planned in summer 2018; the project completion has been delayed by the impacts from Hurricane Irma.

Golden Gate Parkway between Goodlette-Frank Road and Freedom Park – On Golden Gate Parkway between Goodlette-Frank Road and Freedom Park expect westbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews place pavement markings on a newly paved section of the roadway. Lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Golden Gate Parkway between Livingston Road and Collier Boulevard – On Golden Gate Parkway between Livingston Road and Collier Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures both eastbound and westbound beginning on Friday, April 13 and continuing for approximately three weeks, reducing traffic at times from three lanes in each direction to two lanes in each direction, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, while crews install mulch.   Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

Livingston Road near the entrance of Orchid Run – On Livingston Road near the entrance of Orchid Run expect southbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews place pavement markings on a newly paved section of the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area. 

Orange Blossom Drive near the entrance of First Baptist Church Naples - On Orange Blossom Drive near the entrance of First Baptist Church Naples expect eastbound and westbound traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews place pavement markings on a newly paved section of the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Radio Road and Santa Barbara Boulevard – On Radio Road between Airport Road and Santa Barbara Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures both eastbound and westbound through Wednesday, April 18 reducing traffic at times from two lanes in each direction to one lane in each direction from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, while crews install mulch. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area.

Tallowood Way at Logan Boulevard Intersection – On Tallowood Way at Logan Boulevard expect eastbound and westbound traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews place pavement markings on a newly paved section of the roadway. Flagmen, lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs, electronic message signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 101st Avenue North – On Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 101st Avenue North expect traffic to be reduced to ONE LANE ONLY for approximately two months from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue installation of new water mains and stormwater drainage structures. 6th Street may be used as an alternate route for those travelers who do not have destinations in the construction zone. Advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist drivers in this area.

White Blvd. over Cypress Canal Bridge Replacement Project – On White Blvd. between Weber Blvd. and 31st Street SW over the Cypress Canal crews are progressing with constructing the new replacement bridge. This project is expected to be completed in summer 2018. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph through the construction zone.  Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs, barrier wall and barricades, to assist travelers in this area. 

 

WORK BY OTHERS:

S. 1st Street between W. Delaware Avenue and Boston Avenue (in Immokalee) –  On S. 1st Street between W. Delaware Avenue and Boston Avenue in Immokalee expect intermittent lane closures through Friday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews working for the Immokalee Water and Sewer District continue work to install a new watermain as part of the Immokalee Water Line Replacement Project.  Electronic message signs, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Arthrex Boulevard between Immokalee Road and Creekside Boulevard – Arthrex Boulevard between U.S. 41 and Goodlette-Frank Road will be CLOSED to all traffic for approximately three weeks from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews continue constructing roadway improvements.  In addition, the right turn lane from Immokalee Road onto Arthrex Boulevard will be closed.  A detour will be posted. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.  

Immokalee Drive between SR 29 and Washington Avenue (in Immokalee) – On Immokalee Drive between SR 29 and Washington Avenue in Immokalee expect traffic TO BE REDUCED TO ONE LANE ONLY through Friday, May 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews working for the Immokalee Water and Sewer District continue installation of a new watermain. Flagmen, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area. 

Livingston Road between Pine Ridge Road and Eatonwood Lane - On Livingston Road between Pine Ridge Road and Eatonwood Lane expect southbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes on Thursday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews pave the right turn lane and adjacent through lane. Flagmen, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area. 

Mercantile Avenue near Airport Road – On Mercantile Avenue westbound traffic nearing Airport Road should expect the back portion of the right turn lane to be shortened for approximately two weeks OVERNIGHT from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews continue work for Tamiami Ford, Inc. constructing a new entrance with a turn lane into the car dealership. Drivers will still be able to turn right from Mercantile Avenue onto Airport Road during this work. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.  

Roberts Avenue between SR 29 and 1st Street (in Immokalee) – On Roberts Avenue between SR 29 and 1st Street in Immokalee expect intermittent lane closures, reducing traffic at times to ONE LANE ONLY, for approximately three weeks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews install new water lines as part of the Immokalee Water Line Replacement Project. In addition, expect intermittent lane closures at the following intersections with Roberts Avenue as the work passes each side street along this route: 9th Street, 8th Street, 7th Street, 6th Street, 5th Street, 4th Street, 3rd Street and 2nd Street. Local traffic will be accommodated. Detour routes will be posted. Flagmen, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area. 

Shadowlawn Drive between U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail East) and Estey Avenue – On Shadowlawn Drive between U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail East) and Estey Avenue expect southbound intermittent lane closures, reducing traffic at times to ONE LANE ONLY, for approximately four months OVERNIGHT from   8 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews working for FPL replace power poles. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades, to assist travelers in this area.
