ROAD ALERT UPDATE 

This ROAD ALERT UPDATE was prepared by the Collier County Growth Management Department to inform the community about scheduled road construction and road maintenance projects along major roadways in Collier County where lane closures are planned or traffic flow may be affected.

COLLIER COUNTY CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE PROJECTS:

Copeland Avenue (CR 29) between Demere Lane and Oyster Bar Lane – On Copeland Avenue (CR 29) between Demere Lane and Oyster Bar Lane milling and paving operations have begun for the Chokoloskee Bridge Replacement Project and may continue through Sunday, Aug. 5, weather permitting. A temporary traffic signal has been installed and is operational 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist travelers in this area. Drivers are advised that trucks will be entering and exiting the construction zone during the milling and paving process.  All travelers are reminded to stay alert and obey all posted signs. The posted speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph and speeding fines are double in construction zones. Completion of the replacement bridge is planned in summer 2018; the project completion has been delayed by the impacts from Hurricane Irma.
