ROAD ALERT

This ROAD ALERT was prepared by the Collier County Growth Management Department to inform the community about scheduled road construction and road maintenance projects along major roadways in Collier County where lane closures are planned or traffic flow may be affected. 

COLLIER COUNTY CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE PROJECTS: 

Airport Road and Enterprise Avenue Intersection – At the Airport Road and Enterprise Avenue intersection expect intermittent lane closures in all directions for approximately two weeks from 9 a.m., to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform maintenance on traffic signal poles. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area. 

Cassena Road between Carica Road and Tupelo Road – On Cassena Road between Carica Road and Tupelo Road expect intermittent lane closures sometimes reducing traffic to ONE LANE ONLY for approximately three weeks from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily, weather permitting, as crews continue installation of a new potable water service system as part of the Cassena Road Water Main Improvement Project. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.  

Collier Boulevard and Wolfe Road Intersection – At the Collier Boulevard and Wolfe Road intersection expect intermittent lane closures in all directions for approximately one week from 9 a.m., to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews perform maintenance on traffic signal poles. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.  

Pine Ridge Road and Airport Road Intersection - On Pine Ridge Road at Airport Road expect westbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes for approximately two weeks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, as crews remove and reconstruct the median as part of the Pine Ridge Road at Airport Road Intersection Improvements Project. Additional work to occur over the next six months includes extending the westbound left turn lane 300 feet to allow more capacity for vehicles in the dual left turn lanes for westbound to southbound traffic.  Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.  

Pine Ridge Road and Logan Boulevard Intersection – On Pine Ridge Road at Logan Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for approximately six months as crews continue installation of stormwater drainage structures and piping, extend the eastbound through lane another 2,000 feet, and widen the intersection to include dual left turn lanes for westbound to southbound traffic as part of the Pine Ridge Road at Logan Boulevard Intersection Improvements Project. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area. 

Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Santa Barbara Boulevard Intersection – At the Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Santa Barbara Boulevard intersection expect intermittent westbound and southbound lane closures for approximately three weeks from    9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews working for Collier County Public Utilities continue installation of new pipes for pump station improvements. Travelers should use caution as trucks will be entering and exiting the pump station area. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area. 

Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 101st Avenue NorthOn Vanderbilt Drive between 96th Avenue North and 97th Avenue North the ROADWAY IS CLOSED AND A DETOUR ROUTE HAS BEEN POSTED.  For the remainder of the project area on Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 101st Avenue North ONLY LOCAL TRAFFIC IS BEING PERMITTED, as crews continue installation of new water mains and stormwater drainage structures. 6th Street has been posted as the detour route. Project completion is expected by end of December 2018. Advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist drivers in this area.  

White Boulevard over Cypress Canal Bridge Replacement Project – On White Boulevard between Weber Boulevard and 31st Street SW over the Cypress Canal crews are currently working on the northbound side of the road and drivers are advised to expect trucks entering and exiting the northbound lane intermittently. This project is expected to be completed later this fall. Drivers are advised to stay alert, use caution and obey all traffic signs when traveling in this area. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph through the construction zone.  Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs, barrier wall and barricades to assist travelers in this area

WORK BY OTHERS:

Golden Gate Parkway between 60th Street SW and 58th Street SW – On Golden Gate Parkway between 60th Street SW and 58th Street SW expect eastbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes beginning on Monday, Dec. 10 and continuing through Friday, Dec. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting, while crews working for a residential construction contractor remove concrete and repair the sidewalk. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area. 

Lake Trafford Road between 11th Street and Monroe Street (in Immokalee) - Expect Lake Trafford Road between 11th Street and Monroe Street in Immokalee to be closed to all traffic beginning on Monday, Dec. 10 and continuing through Thursday Dec. 13, weather permitting, as crews continue installation of new water line connections as part of the Immokalee Water Line Replacement Project. A detour route will be posted. Advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.  

Lee Street between Nassau Street and Monroe Street (in Immokalee) –  Expect Lee Street between Nassau Street and Monroe Street in Immokalee to be closed to all traffic through Monday Dec. 10, weather permitting, as crews continue installation of new water line connections as part of the Immokalee Water Line Replacement Project. A detour route will be posted. Advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.  

Vanderbilt Drive and side streets on the south end  –  On Vanderbilt Drive and on side streets off the south end including Tradewinds Avenue, Lagoon Avenue, Bayside Avenue and Oak Avenue expect intermittent lane closures reducing traffic at times from two lanes (one lane in each direction) to ONE LANE ONLY for approximately one week from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, as crews working for FPL continue to remove overhead power lines and poles as part of the Vanderbilt Beach Overhead to Underground Utility Burial Project.  Overnight work is also expected for this project on Vanderbilt Drive between Tradewinds Avenue and Vanderbilt Beach Road for approximately one week. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.
