FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
This ROAD ALERT was prepared by the Collier County Growth Management Department to inform the community about scheduled road construction and road maintenance projects along major roadways in Collier County where lane closures are planned or traffic flow may be affected.
COLLIER COUNTY CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE PROJECTS:
Pine Ridge Road and Logan Boulevard Intersection – On Pine Ridge Road at Logan Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for approximately six months as crews continue installation of stormwater drainage structures and piping, extend the eastbound through lane another 2,000 feet, and widen the intersection to include dual left turn lanes for westbound to southbound traffic as part of the Pine Ridge Road at Logan Boulevard Intersection Improvements Project. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.
Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 101st Avenue North – On Vanderbilt Drive between 96th Avenue North and 97th Avenue North THE ROADWAY IS CLOSED AND A DETOUR ROUTE HAS BEEN POSTED. For the remainder of the project area on Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 101st Avenue North ONLY LOCAL TRAFFIC IS BEING PERMITTED, as crews continue installation of new water mains and stormwater drainage structures. 6th Street has been posted as the detour route. Project completion is expected by end of January 2019. Advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist drivers in this area.
White Boulevard between Weber Boulevard and 31st Street SW – On White Boulevard between Weber Boulevard and 31st Street SW near the Cypress Canal expect intermittent lane closures sometimes reducing traffic to ONE LANE ONLY from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, for approximately one week as crews working on the Cypress Canal Bridge Replacement Project progress toward completion. In addition, on Thursday, Jan. 3 and on Friday, Jan. 4 expect OVERNIGHT WORK between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. as crews place concrete and pave. This OVERNIGHT WORK will reduce traffic to ONE LANE ONLY. Drivers are advised to stay alert, use caution and obey all traffic signs when traveling in this area. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph through the construction zone. This project is expected to be completed in early 2019. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs, barrier wall and barricades to assist travelers in this area.
