ROAD ALERT

This ROAD ALERT was prepared by the Collier County Growth Management Department to inform the community about scheduled road construction and road maintenance projects along major roadways in Collier County where lane closures are planned or traffic flow may be affected.

COLLIER COUNTY CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE PROJECTS

95th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and US 41 – On 95th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and US 41 expect intermittent lane closures reducing traffic at times to ONE LANE ONLY for approximately 10 months, with both daytime and overnight hours, weather permitting, as crews perform a utility renewal project in Naples Park. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.

Immokalee Road at Shark Way (Gulf Coast High School) – At the Immokalee Road at Shark Way intersection expect intermittent lane closures in all directions continuing for approximately two weeks from    9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as well as OVERNIGHT from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., weather permitting, as crews perform maintenance on traffic signal poles. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Pine Ridge Road and Logan Boulevard Intersection – On Pine Ridge Road at Logan Boulevard expect intermittent lane closures weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for approximately five months as crews continue installation of stormwater drainage structures and piping, extend the eastbound through lane another 2,000 feet, and widen the intersection to include dual left turn lanes for westbound to southbound traffic as part of the Pine Ridge Road at Logan Boulevard Intersection Improvements Project. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Radio Road near Corporate Square – On Radio Road near Corporate Square expect intermittent westbound lane closure to the travel lane next to the median on Monday, Jan. 14, weather permitting, as crews set up equipment for a traffic study. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.

Ridge Street between US 41 and Goodlette-Frank Road – Expect Ridge Street between US 41 and Goodlette-Frank Road to be CLOSED TO ALL BUT LOCAL TRAFFIC for approximately 10 months, weather permitting, as crews continue work on the West Goodlette-Frank Road Joint Stormwater-Sewer Project perform utility and roadway improvements.  Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with electronic message signs, advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.

Vanderbilt Beach Road between US 41 and Goodlette-Frank Road – On Vanderbilt Beach Road between US 41 and Goodlette-Frank Road expect eastbound traffic to be reduced from two lanes to one lane through Friday, Jan. 18 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews repair a wall next to the roadway. Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 101st Avenue North Expect Vanderbilt Drive between 96th Avenue North and 97th Avenue North to be CLOSED. A detour route has been posted.  For the remainder of the project area on Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 101st Avenue North ONLY LOCAL TRAFFIC IS BEING PERMITTED, as crews continue installation of new water mains and stormwater drainage structures. 6th Street has been posted as the detour route. Project completion is expected by end of February 2019. Advance warning signs and barricades are being used to assist drivers in this area. 

White Boulevard between Weber Boulevard and 31st Street SW – On White Boulevard between Weber Boulevard and 31st Street SW near the Cypress Canal expect intermittent lane closures sometimes reducing traffic to ONE LANE ONLY from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, for approximately two weeks as crews working on the Cypress Canal Bridge Replacement Project progress toward completion  Drivers are advised to stay alert, use caution and obey all traffic signs when traveling in this area. The speed limit has been reduced to 35 mph through the construction zone. This project is expected to be completed in early 2019. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs, barrier wall and barricades to assist travelers in this area. 

WORK BY OTHERS

Airport Road at Europa Drive – On Airport Pulling Road at the Europa Drive, expect northbound travel lanes to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes, along with intermittent closures of the right turn lane from Airport Road to Europa Drive OVERNIGHT on Sunday, Jan. 13 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, weather permitting, as crews working on the bridge replacement on Europa Drive move their equipment. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with lighted arrow boards, advanced warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area as workers remove equipment from the site.

Bluebill Avenue between Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park and Vanderbilt Drive - Bluebill Avenue between Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park and Vanderbilt Drive will be CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC AT    7 P.M. EACH DAY AND REOPENING AT 5 A.M. EACH MORNING for approximately one week, weather permitting, as crews working for FPL continue to remove overhead power lines and poles as part of the Vanderbilt Beach Overhead to Underground Utility Burial Project.  Detour routes will be posted. Flagmen, advance warning signs and barricades will be used to assist travelers in this area.

Goodlette-Frank Road between 3rd Avenue N. and 5th Avenue N. – On Goodlette-Frank Road between 3rd Avenue N. and 5th Avenue N. expect northbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes beginning for approximately two weeks between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, as crews handling fiber optic cables do directional drill continue work next to the roadway. Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area. 

Vanderbilt Drive side streets on the south end  –  On side streets off the south end of Vanderbilt Drive (south of Bluebill Avenue) including Conners Avenue, Tradewinds Avenue, Lagoon Avenue, Bayside Avenue, Pine Avenue, Oak Avenue, and Palm Court expect intermittent lane closures reducing traffic at times from two lanes (one lane in each direction) to ONE LANE ONLY for approximately one week from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, as crews working for FPL continue to remove overhead power lines and poles as part of the Vanderbilt Beach Overhead to Underground Utility Burial Project.  Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades to assist travelers in this area.
