Post Date:01/10/2019 5:30 PM

Thursday, January 10, 2019

Provided by: Collier County Pollution Control

Current conditions: Below are the most recent red tide results. No respiratory irritation or dead fish are being reported.

Forecast: Satellite imagery and offshore sampling shows high levels of red tide along our coast. Onshore winds beginning Sunday, January 13th could produce red tide impacts; therefore, people with chronic respiratory illnesses should avoid going to the beach as these illnesses may be aggravated.

The next sampling event will be January 14, 2019. Results should be available late Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

To report dead fish or red tide symptoms, please call Collier County Pollution Control at (239) 252-2502 or email pollution_control@colliercountyfl.gov. To speak to a health professional regarding red tide symptoms call the Florida Poison Information Center toll free at 1-800-222-1222.
