Immokalee Culinary Connection Day

Wednesday, March 27, 2019
10 a.m. – 2p.m.

The Florida Culinary Accelerator @ Immokalee will celebrate its third annual Immokalee Culinary Connection Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, at the Culinary Accelerator, 170 Airpark Blvd., No.103, Immokalee, Florida 34142. The event will include celebrity chef cooking challenges, samples, tours and raffles, followed by an evening after-party from 4-10 p.m. at Celebration Food Truck Park, 2880 Becca Ave., Naples, Florida 34112. The afterparty will feature culinary accelerator vendors selling their products, as well as food trucks, fundraisers and other festivities.

“The county’s accelerator program was created to diversify our economy and, so far, it’s helped 27 food startups, chefs and small businesses from Immokalee, Collier County, the Southwest Florida Promise Zone and Southwest Florida,” said Jace Kentner, director of the Collier County Office of Business & Economic Development. “Immokalee Culinary Connection Day plays a significant role in connecting and supporting our Southwest Florida communities, the Promise Zone, consumers, and our culinary entrepreneurs.”

Ahmed El, the accelerator’s Culinary Program Manager, likens Immokalee Culinary Connection Day to an open house. “We’re inviting everyone to come to the accelerator, meet our local chefs and food businesses, watch us operate and see what’s happening here,” El said. “We want them to truly immerse themselves. The goal of the event is to create awareness and support, while helping connect Immokalee’s farming community, Southwest Florida residents and businesses with aspiring culinary entrepreneurs in every stage of their businesses.”

Residents, businesses, farms and others who want to help sponsor the event, participate as a vendor or a cooking demo chef, or donate money to the program, can go to for more information.
