FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ROAD ALERT

This ROAD ALERT was prepared by the Collier County Growth Management Department to inform the community about scheduled road construction and road maintenance projects, weather permitting, along major roadways in Collier County where lane closures are planned or traffic flow may be affected.

COLLIER COUNTY CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE PROJECTS:

Location:

10th Street North between Frank Whiteman Boulevard and Ohio Drive

Time:

24/7 for approximately one week (final completion expected in September)

Advisory:

10th Street North from Cooper Drive to Frank Whiteman Boulevard as well as the intersection at Cooper Drive and 10th Street North currently CLOSED to through traffic; with intermittent lane closures to the south.  As construction progresses to the south additional roadway will be closed to through traffic while the completed section will continue to experience intermittent lane closures.

 

Detour has been posted

 

Flagmen, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades being used

Reason:

Crews performing utility and roadway improvements as part of the West Goodlette-Frank Road Joint Stormwater-Sewer Project

 

 

Location:

95th Avenue North between Vanderbilt Drive and US 41

Time:

Both daytime and overnight hours, for approximately nine months

Advisory:

Expect intermittent lane closures reducing traffic at times to ONE LANE ONLY

 

Flagmen to be used, as needed, along with advance warning signs and barricades

Reason:

Crews performing a utility renewal project in Naples Park

 

 

Location:

Airport-Pulling Road between US 41 E and Davis Boulevard

Time:

Through Thursday, May 2; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Advisory:

Northbound traffic reduced from three lanes to two lanes

 

Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, and barricades are in use

Reason:

Crews repairing sidewalk

 

 

Location:

Charlemagne Boulevard near Rattlesnake Hammock Road Intersection

Time:

Through Tuesday, April 30; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Advisory:

Intermittent lane closures on both Charlemagne Boulevard and Rattlesnake Hammock Road

 

Flagmen will be used, as needed, along with lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, and barricades

Reason:

Crews replacing stormwater drainage pipe

 

 

Location:

Immokalee Road and Collier Boulevard Intersection (southeast corner), between Pebblebrooke Drive and Goodland Bay Drive

Time:

Tuesday, April 9 through Friday, April 12; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Advisory:

Intermittent lane closures, northbound inside right turn lane on Collier Boulevard going east onto Immokalee Road, WILL BE CLOSED; northbound traffic going east onto Immokalee Road will be able to use the adjacent outside right turn lane

 

Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, and barricades will be used

Reason:

Crews replacing guardrail (southeast corner of intersection)

 

 

Location:

Immokalee Road from Collier Boulevard to Wilson Boulevard

Time:

Through Wednesday, May 1; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Advisory:

Intermittent lane closures

 

Flagmen, as needed, lighted arrow boards, rolling trucks with signage, advance warning signs, and barricades

Reason:

Crews installing irrigation and landscape in medians

 

 

Location:

Immokalee Road between Goodlette-Frank Road and I-75

Time:

Through Wednesday, May 1; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Advisory:

Intermittent westbound lane closures sometimes reducing through traffic from three lanes to two lanes

 

Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, and barricades

Reason:

Crews working on stormwater drainage maintenance

 

 

Location:

Immokalee Road between Maverick Lane and 8th Street NW, near Collier Charter Academy entrance

Time:

24/7 through Monday, April 15

Advisory:

Expect westbound traffic to be reduced from three lanes to two lanes

 

Electronic message signs, advance warning signs, lighted arrow boards, and barricades to be used

Reason:

Public utility crews continuing installation of a force main

 

 

Location:

Immokalee Road at Valewood Drive Intersection between Tarpon Bay Boulevard and Logan Boulevard

Time:

Through Friday, April 19; overnight 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Advisory:

Intermittent westbound and eastbound lane closures reducing three lanes to two lanes

 

Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, electronic message boards, and barricades will be used

Reason:

Crews working in median

 

 

Location:

Oil Well Road between Everglades Boulevard and Tangelo Drive (1100 feet west of Everglades Boulevard)

Time:

Through Monday, April 8; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Advisory:

Eastbound traffic reduced from three lanes to two lanes

 

Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, and barricades will be used

Reason:

Crews working on drainage repair

 

 

Location:

Orange Blossom Drive between Goodlette-Frank Road and Airport Road

Time:

Through Wednesday, April 10; overnight 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Advisory:

Intermittent lane closures

 

Flagmen, as needed, along with lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, and barricades

Reason:

Crews milling and resurfacing in small sections

 

 

Location:

Randall Boulevard Bridge over Golden Gate Main Canal between Everglades Boulevard and 16th Street NE

Time:

Monday, April 8 through Wednesday, April 10; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Advisory:

Traffic to be reduced TO ONE LANE ONLY

 

Flagmen will be used, along with lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, and barricades will be used

Reason:

Crews working on guardrail replacement at the canal

 

 

Location:

Ridge Street between US 41 and Goodlette-Frank Road

Time:

24/7 for approximately five months

Advisory:

CLOSED TO ALL BUT LOCAL TRAFFIC

 

Flagmen, as needed, along with electronic message signs, advance warning signs, and barricades

Reason:

Crews continuing utility work and roadway improvements for the West Goodlette-Frank Road Joint Stormwater-Sewer Project

 

 

Location:

Vanderbilt Drive between 91st Avenue North and 106th Avenue North

Time:

24/7 (project completion expected end of July)

Advisory:

This roadway segment is CLOSED. For the remainder of the project area on Vanderbilt Drive between 101st Avenue North and 102nd Avenue North, ONLY LOCAL TRAFFIC IS BEING PERMITTED

 

Advance warning signs and barricades are in place

Detour:

6th Street N. has been posted as the detour route

Reason:

Installation of new water mains and stormwater drainage structures

 

 

Location:

Vanderbilt Boulevard and Islandwalk Boulevard Intersection

Time:

Through Friday, April 12; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Advisory:

Intermittent lane closures

 

Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, and barricades will be used

Reason:

Crews pressure washing traffic signal poles

 

 

Location:

Vanderbilt Boulevard and Logan Boulevard Intersection

Time:

Through Friday, April 12; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Advisory:

Intermittent lane closures

 

Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, and barricades will be used

Reason:

Crews pressure washing traffic signal poles

Location:

Collier Boulevard between Vanderbilt Beach Road and Tree Farm Road

Time:

Monday, April 8 through Thursday, June 6; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Advisory:

Intermittent lane closures northbound, sometimes reducing northbound traffic from three lanes to two lanes

 

Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs and barricades will be used

Reason:

Crews constructing two turn lanes into a new development called Abacco Point

 

 

Location:

Livingston Road between Marsala Way and Reserve Lane

Time:

Through Wednesday April 17; overnight 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Advisory:

Intermittent lane closures, northbound and southbound traffic reduced from three lanes in each direction to two lanes in each direction

 

Lighted arrow boards, advance warning signs, and barricades will be used

Reason:

Crews constructing median turn lanes

 

 

Location:

Solana Road between US 41 and Goodlette-Frank Road

Time:

Through Monday, April 29; 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Advisory:

Intermittent, three lanes reduced to two and at times ROAD TO BE CLOSED TO THROUGH TRAFFIC. CRANE TO BE SET UP IN ROADWAY.

FPL contractor crews replacing power poles with crane
