Collier County, in partnership with Blue Zones Project SWFL are pleased to have you join Joe Minicozzi and special guest Galina Tachieva at “The Dollars and Sense of Growth in Collier County” event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, July 9, at the South Collier Regional Library, 8065 Lely Cultural Parkway, Naples, Florida 34113.
Minicozzi, named one of the 100 Most Influential Urbanists of all time, will be presenting his Urban 3’s (consulting firm in Asheville, NC) pioneering work in relation to Collier County. Urban3’s work in pioneering geo-spatial representation of economic productivity has prompted a shift in understanding the economic potency of urbanism and the value of well-designed cities. Minicozzi is known for his compelling and humorous style and will challenge the way you think about the cost of development and value of land.
Galina Tachieva, managing partner at the Duany Plater-Zyberk firm, is the author of the award-winning Sprawl Repair Manual and the Smart Code Sprawl Repair Manual. Galina will discuss smart growth principles in the Florida context.
This event is free and open to the public and will include time for questions and answers.
Two or more members of the Collier County Board of County Commissioners, City of Naples City Council, the City of Marco Island City Council, or any of their respective advisory committees may be present and participate at the meeting. The subject matter of this meeting may be an item for discussion and action at future meetings of these boards, councils or agencies.
