Fast Facts About Code Enforcement Liens

  1. If a property has a lien placed, it may be difficult to sell, refinance or borrow against it.
  2. Pursuant to Florida Statue 162.09 (3) liens are recorded in the public records and therefore shall constitute a lien against the land on which the violation exists and any other real or personal property owned by the violator.
  3. No Code Enforcement lien shall continue for a period longer than 20 years.

The cost for this service is $25 per property address

Lien search results will report outstanding Code Enforcement issues, such as:

• Code violations
• Code enforcement liens
• Citations

*Lien search results will not report issues beyond the Code Enforcement Department’s jurisdiction, such as open permits and utility bills, and payoff information is not included in lien search results.*

Payoff results will report outstanding fees and fines on specific Code Enforcement issues. The cost for this service is $25 per property address.

In efforts to expedite our services; Effective March 1st, 2019 once your request is received, a reference number will be emailed to you with payment instructions. Please allow 3-5 business days for processing.
