The first Golden Gate Area Master Plan (GGAMP) was created in 1991. On February 10, 2015, the Board of County Commissioners directed staff to initiate “restudies” of four GMP master plans in eastern Collier County, including the GGAMP. The restudy of the GGAMP and resultant White Paper have led to a Growth Management Plan amendment that is anticipated for adoption in early 2019.
This Land Development Code (LDC) amendment represents the implementation of the proposed changes that are related to the Golden Gate Parkway corridor, generally located between Santa Barbara Boulevard and Collier Boulevard (as shown below). The LDC amendment would modify the existing overlay districts and create a new Activity Center Overlay District to support and implement residential and commercial redevelopment and renewal initiatives.
