FREE & Open to the Public!

Annual Collier County SKYWARN training for 2020 is complete.  The next training will be delivered in 2021 at the South Regional Library, 8065 Lely Cultural Parkway, Naples, 34113 on a date to be determined on a Saturday in late February, early March time frame.  Class will begin at 10 am and continue to ~2:00pm. You may bring snacks as there will only be two 15-minute breaks and no extended lunch break.  To register,  you can e-mail the Collier County SKYWARN Coordinator

Spotters should attend Refresher training at least every two years.

To register for the Collier County Certification Training you must be over 18 years old.  Another free training opportunity on Community Weather Awareness provided by FEMA  (IS-271 Anticipating Hazardous Weather & Community Risk).

Saturday, 23 June 2012, just before 4pm.  This tornado hit the area around Rattlesnake Hammock and US-41 and then apparently skipped over to the North Collier Regional Hospital grounds, off Immokalee road.  Picture was taken by Win Turner.

Tuesday, 18 Sept 2007, @ ~6PM, Don Blalock took a picture of this pair of water spouts about seven miles from  Marco Island.  On this particular day, several spouts appeared around the coastline of Collier County.
