The Division of Facilities Management Building Management Section is comprised of 5 specialized sections to meet the physical needs of Collier County Government. Structural, Electrical, Plumbing, Air-Conditioning (HVAC), and Fire/Life Safety. There are currently 34 tradesworkers that provide direct building maintenance support for the County's 630 plus structures. These tradeworkers are highly skilled and dedicated to providing excellent customer service. These maintenance professionals in our organization are the backbone of our division. They are the direct link to our customers providing prompt and professional service.

The Structural/Carpentry Shop is responsible for repairs associated with all Collier County Facilities. Its responsibilities and services include:

Providing day-to-day and service request repairs

Repairing furniture, doors, windows

Conducting inspections and preventative maintenance

Assisting with Minor Projects repairs and renovations

Providing general building maintenance

Building and Installing cabinetry and shelving

Paint Shop
The Paint Shop is responsible for some the painting done in our facilities. Its responsibilities and services include:

Providing exterior and interior painting
Electrical Shop
The Electrical Shop is responsible for all aspects of the electrical distribution systems at all Collier County facilities. Its responsibilities and services include:

Providing power distribution for the County Government

Maintaining electrical and hi-voltage systems

Installing, testing and maintaining fire alarm systems

Maintaining electrical motors
-
Installing and changing indoor and outdoor lighting
-
Servicing mechanical equipment
-
Maintaining and repairing fans, pumps, emergency generators

Elevator maintenance
HVAC Section
The HVAC Shop is responsible for all Heating/Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems at Collier County Facilities. Its responsibilities and services include:

Providing heating, ventilation, refrigeration and controls

Maintaining and operating Central Plant chillers

Maintaining Ice Machines
Chiller Plant Operations supplies the main government complex with continuous chilled water for the many air-conditioning systems. The system generates up to 2,400,000 gallons of chilled water during summer peaks. In addition, over 400 plus air conditioning systems are maintained off campus through regular maintenance and air-filter replacements.
Plumbing Shop
The Plumbing Shop is responsible for the water and sewer systems at Collier County Facilities. Its responsibilities and services include:

Servicing back flow preventers, and sanitary systems

Maintaining and servicing pipes and valves
Fire and Life Safety
The Fire and Life Safety shop is responsible for all of the fire and life safety systems at Collier County Facilities. Its responsibilities and services include:

Coordination of all life safety tests
