The Immokalee Landfill began operations in 1982 and was operated by Waste Management Inc., of Florida. The landfill was closed on December 24, 2008, at which time Waste Management Inc., of Florida commenced using this site as a Transfer Station.
Immokalee Transfer Station

7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
The county-owned transfer station is designed to manage 150 tons of solid waste per day, and is operated by Waste Management Inc., of Florida. The Immokalee Transfer Station accepts incoming solid waste six days a week throughout the year, except on Thanksgiving day, Christmas day, and Independence Day (July 4). County staff operate the scalehouse at the transfer station.
