Collier County has a network of canals and water level control structures that are operated and maintained by the County in partnership with Florida’s Big Cypress Basin Board.  Additionally, the network of roadside drainage facilities within County transportation easements are operated and maintained as part of the stormwater collection system.

The County’s stormwater management mission is to meet the growth management goals of flood prevention, groundwater recharge, wetland preservation, and water quality protection.
